I’m not gonna lie, I love my gadgets, especially if they are travel or photography related (or even better, both). I decided to put together a list of all the bits and pieces which I can’t go without while travelling…

MANFROTTO PIXI MINI TABLE TOP TRIPOD (BLACK)
This is a great little tripod for travelling, small enough to carry in your pocket and quick and easy to set up anywhere. I’m finding it perfect for my Fuji X-T1 kit, but with the super strong built-in ball head it’s great for anything from a point and shoot to an SLR. I’ve used it with a Canon 5D Mark III and 16-35mm f2.8 lens with no problems! Also comes in a great range of colours, be sure to check them out.

GIOTTOS ROCKET BLASTER DUST-REMOVAL TOOL (SMALL, BLACK)
I bought this to replace my large rocket blaster that I’ve had for years, as I wanted one that would match my new small camera kit. I like to have a blower handy to remove the dust from my lenses before cleaning them with a cloth. It’s also great to clean the sensor, especially when you’re travelling and often in dusty areas! This small blower puts out plenty of air and I would say it’s an essential tool to take on your travels if you want to take care of your gear. Cheap, too, at just $8.95US.

JAPAN CAMERA HUNTER FILM CASE
These are the perfect way to store your film in an organised manner while you’re on-the-go – much better than loose rolls floating around in your bag. I have one full size case in my main pack which holds 10 rolls and then a half case in my daily camera bag, so I’ve always got the choice of five different rolls of film no matter where I am.

SAMIGON FILM RETRIEVER
I love this thing, it makes loading a roll of 36 not such a commitment. You can shoot half a roll of Delta 3200 one night and then shoot the other half a week later without a worry. Just wind the film back in, write down what frame you’re up to on the roll and retrieve it later when you’re ready to shoot the rest.

EBAY SD CARD CASE
“Ebay special” card case – pretty sure they’re all the same, surprisingly good quality and does the job. A great way to protect your spare SD cards and keep them all together.

MOPHIE JUICE PACK POWERSTATION DUO (SMARTPHONES & TABLETS)
When you’re on-the-go the Mophie is so handy and an essential for any traveller. With enough power to charge a phone four times over, it’s great for long flights and bus rides or those times you end up looking at a map for hours trying to figure out where you are. Also great as a back-up for charging your camera if it’s running low, just plug it in for ten minutes and you’re off shooting again!

CRUMPLER HAVEN POUCH (LARGE, BLACK/GRAY)
The Crumpler insert is the best way I’ve found to turn any backpack into a camera bag. It holds more than enough for a day out with your camera and no-one would guess that you have a bag full of gear. Great quality with plenty of organisation separators and padding to protect your gear.

KATHMANDU HEAD LITE 1 LED
It’s always handy to have a light of some sort when out shooting at night, it saves the phone battery and leaves your hands free for setting up those night shots. At about $15, you can’t go wrong.
